Private Fitness
Does your club, organization or department want to improve their health and performance? Come sweat with us at UVM Campus Recreation! Choose between private group fitness classes, mind-body classes, or tailored strength & conditioning programs for your UVM organization. Private group training is for groups of 13+ participants.

Private Fitness Fees:
Group Fitness or Yoga & Mindfulness: $100/hour**
Strength & Conditioning: $125/hour
** Blacklights for any event are an additional $65 for set up, use, and break down (available for evening events held in PFG only).
We require a minimum one hour payment for a session. Any sessions longer than an hour will be billed per minute.

Private Fitness Class Request Process (updated 10/28/2024):
- Submit a Private Sessions Request by the deadline.
- Deadlines:
- Priority requests must be submitted by the Friday after finals week the semester prior to the class being requested. If you would like to have a class within the first two weeks of the semester, you must submit the request before the priority deadline.
- All classes must be requested at least 3 weeks in advance to the date on which you would like to hold your class.
- Summer private classes will be accepted on a rolling basis.

- Arrange a certified instructor if available.
- Assist in booking space (Please note that room capacity maximums may limit the number of people permitted to participate in the private session).
- Bill the appropriate department or party.
- Require the instructor or coach gather attendance for all participants or a head count with our larger groups.
We will evaluate each request and may not offer private classes on dates that conflict with our programmatic priorities.
Streaming & Remote
For an additional charge of $40 per hour session we can stream or record your private classes.
Group Exercise
Schedule a private group fitness class with UVM Campus Recreation to get your members cycling, dancing, and squatting toward better fitness! Choose from any of our Group Fitness class offerings to have your group participate together. The private Group Fitness Class fee covers equipment use, space reservation if in PFG, and qualified instruction during the class time. Outside instructors are not permitted to teach in our facilities. (Zumba, Bootcamp, Strength Circuits, Les Mills BodyPump, Cycling).
Yoga & Mindfulness
A yoga, meditation, myofascial release (self-massage) class designed to fit the needs of your group. We come to your facility, or we host at PFG.
Strength & Conditioning
UVM Campus Recreation offers private strength and conditioning for groups or teams. Our goal is to provide high quality, tailored strength, and conditioning programs to our club sports here at UVM to help reduce their risk of injury and increase their performance. Teams will be assigned to a certified coach based on time/day preferences and facility availability. Training programs are created with the team’s sport needs, strengths, and weaknesses in mind. Private Strength and Conditioning fee covers program design, implementation, and direct coaching in the training session.
FREE 6-Week Yoga Series
As part of our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, our students must teach an 6-week yoga series in the spring. If interested in HOSTING a FREE 6-week yoga series with one of our teachers-in-training, please contact John McConnell, Director of the UVM Yoga Teacher Training. The host is responsible for securing a room in which to practice yoga and finding patrons to commit to, and attend, the series.
