Intramural Sports
The intramural sports program offers a variety of team and individual recreational sports. The goal of the intramural sports program is to provide opportunities for the UVM campus community to recreate in a sport-based setting with a focus on positive social interaction and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Our intramural activities are offered in mixed gender, men's, women's, and open divisions. Some leagues are divided by competitive level.
What is the difference between intramural sports and club sports? Intramural Sports are recreational leagues organized by campus rec and designed for students of all skill levels. They are low-commitment, typically played on campus, and focus on fun, socializing, and staying active.
Club Sports, on the other hand, are student-run teams that compete against other schools or organizations. They are more competitive than intramurals, often require tryouts, and involve a higher level of commitment, including regular practices and travel for competitions. These are housed in SGA at UVM. Visit www.uvm.edu/sga/club-sports for more information.
In short, intramurals are casual and for fun, while club sports are more competitive and require a greater time commitment.
