The People of Campus Rec: Kylie
11/5/2019 12:52:00 AM | The Well
From Lifeguard, to Facility Operations Attendant, to Cycling Instructor and Operations Supervisor, Kylie has worn a lot of hats at Campus Rec over the last few years! Her presence is strong as she's full of passion and drive, and is constantly working towards her goals.
Kylie looks forward to all her shifts because of her amazing co-workers, "We are all from different background and academic majors, but we get along so well! My experience at Campus Rec has only gotten better the longer I've worked".
Kylie is a junior studying Nursing, who also loves to be active and try different foods! Her favorite restaurant right now is Tiny Thai in Winooski. After graduation, Kylie wants to further her education and become a Nurse Practitioner, get certified in more group fitness classes, and check off running a marathon from her bucket list!
Other than working towards becoming a nurse and working at Campus Rec, Kylie is the Treasurer for the Student Nursing Association and sits on the Baccalaureate Education Committee of Nursing.
Cycling has become a major part of Kylie's life, she loves to participate and teach it. She teaches classes at UVM and in her home town. "If I ever need inspiration, I'll visit other people's classes to pick up new tips and learn from my co-workers".
Kylie's advice to new students is to "take advantage of the free week of group fitness class! It's only one hour, which is 4% of your day! There is a class and instructor for everyone. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get out of your comfort zone and try something new".
