The goal of UVM Campus Recreation Personal Training is to motivate, guide, and educate clients to achieve their fitness goals and overall wellness in a one-on-one setting.

2005-2026 Academic Year Training Sessions:

  • Fall I - September 1 - October 25, Registration opens August 11, closes August 25
  • Fall II - October 27 - December 20, Registration opens August 11, closes October 20
  • Spring I - January 12 - March 7 - Registration opens December 8, closes January 5
  • Spring II - March 16 - May 9 - Registration opens December 8, closes March 9

Private Training Cost:

  • UVM Student: Half Semester $360, Full Semester $720 
  • UVM Faculty/Staff/Facility Member: Half Semester $480, Full Semester $960  (Use limited time 30% UVM Employee Wellness discount code EW30) 
  • Package sessions do not carry over. Personal Training purchases are non-refundable.

Existing clients may purchase additional sessions to train more often than once a week or to continue to meet with their trainer after completing a half or full semester package. The sessions expire within two weeks of purchase. Packages expire at the session end date.

  • Students $45 per session
  • UVM Faculty/Staff/Facility Member: $60 per session

A session must be canceled 24 hours prior to the start of the session via email. Failure to cancel 24 hours prior to the start of the session will result in the session being processed. We will make up sessions canceled outside the 24 hour window however there are no refunds if it cannot be made up.


Personal Training Package:

  • The Personal Training package consists of meeting once a week, each for 45-60 minutes.
  • Sessions are designed by a certified Personal Trainer based on the individual needs, goals, and current fitness level of each client.
  • Clients will do a remote interview with their trainer before their in-person assessment. A semester package includes up to eight sessions with your trainer and an individualized program design. New clients will additionally receive a remote interview and an in-person assessment.
    • The remote interview will include:
      • An introduction to your trainer
      • A health history and risk screening intake
      • A client goal setting exercise
    • The in-person assessment will include:
      • Postural assessment
      • Functional movement screens
      • Applicable physiological assessments
      • Applicable anthropometric measurements
      • Applicable cardiorespiratory testing
      • Applicable strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility screening

Getting started:

  • Fill out the intake form
  • You can expect to hear from us by the session start date to confirm that we’ve received your intake form and payment. Please note that space is limited, so timely communication is essential. Responding promptly to our emails will help secure your spot.
  • Your assigned Personal Trainer will contact you directly via email by the session start date. They will introduce themselves and provide a link to schedule your remote interview.
  • Please note: Payment for training package must be completed prior to your first in-person session. Please review all Personal Training Policies prior to your purchase.
