Field Day 


UVM Intramural Sport rules governing this activity are unique to the UVM Intramural Sports Program. This rules sheet is not meant to be all-inclusive; rather it is a summary of the more common rules, policies, and procedures used by the Intramural Sports Program. All important policy information can be found in the Intramural Sports Handbook, which are available on our website. All team captains and players are responsible for reading this document and understanding the rules, policies, and procedures prior to participating in this activity.

UVM Identification - All players MUST present a UVM Cat Card to the IMS Supervisor prior to the start of the tournament. 

General Summary

In partnership with UVM Residential Life, the inaugural field day will encapsulate some of your favorite childhood activities in a classic Green vs Gold tournament. You will register a spot and be divided into teams as the event approaches. Each person should register individually. Teams will be created onsite and made up of 8-10 participants. Check out our rules section for more details.

Team Events/Races:

Relay Race 100m - activity varies (5 people per team)

  • Race the 100m stretch in 3 different relay styles. This timed event will test your team’s ability to adapt and switch in order to beat the other teams.
  • 3 Leg - 40m
  • Wheel barrow - 30m
  • Potato sack - 30m


Relay Race: Drip Drip Drench w/ Tic Tac Toe (8 min or match the other team)

  • Race with your teammates to fill up the bucket to the line before the other teams fill theirs. This will test your teams endurance and strategy.


Rage in the cage soccer - 1 player each team (4-5 players)

  • Green vs Gold square off in a 1v1 format to try and score a goal before their opponent. Try to stack as many points onto your team total before time expires.


Tug of war (8 minimum or match the other team)

  • The classic field day competition, gather your teammates and muster up your strength to drag the other teams across your line.
     

Giant Skee Ball - target based (8 people max)

  • Using the implements provided you will kick/throw/chuck/sling/punt objects into the giant skee ball field. The highest score will earn victory in this event


Frogger - Blindfolded guide (8 person timed w/ deductions on object collisions)

  • Skip, hop, dip, dodge your way across the field. You will need good listening and communication skills to be successful in this event. 


Egg toss

  • Get yolked! Try to be the last pair remaining in the all out egg toss.


Capture the Flag (match team #’s)

  • Compete with your teams to capture your opponents flags to rack up team points.
