Undergraduate Student Employees (work study & non-work study) 

New Staff:  

• Step 1: Complete the Federal I-9 Form.
  • Print and complete ONLY THE TOP HALF OF PAGE 1 (sign but do not write the date on the form yet).
  • Page 3 lists all the acceptable forms of identification to complete the I-9. Only originals will be accepted, no photocopies. Identifications must be current, please check all expiration dates before leaving home! The most commonly accepted forms of identification are:
    • US Passport, OR
    • State-issued Driver’s License/Photo ID AND Social Security Card, OR
    • State-issued Driver’s License/Photo ID AND Birth Certificate
  • Step 2: Set up an appointment to complete your paperwork  
    • Fall Semester: Sign up for an appointment with our Campus Rec Business Manager
    • Spring and Summer Semesters: Email the Campus Rec Business Manager at campus.recreation@uvm.edu to set up an appointment.
  • Step 3: Two days after completing your paperwork with the Campus Rec Business Manager, sign up for direct deposit (required).

Graduate Student Employees (work study & non-work study)

• Step 3: Sign the Offer Letter (form or instructions will be emailed to you from your supervisor)
• Step 4: Set up an appointment to complete your paperwork

• If there has been any break in your employment you may need to complete some or all the steps as listed above. Your supervisor can clarify what, if any, paperwork you need to complete.
