Greek Intramural Sports Cup

Overview - This tournament will consist of five (5) events that the Fraternity’s and Sorority’s will compete in to collect points.  The organization with the most points at the end of the tournament will be declared the Greek Intramural Sports Cup Champion.  An overall sportsmanship award will also be given to the best team at the end of the tournament.
 
Points System & General Rules - Each fraternity and sorority will be allowed one (1) team per event.  Participants will have to join one official roster and each organization will determine who will compete in each event.  Participants may compete in one (1) event or all five (5).  Throughout the day each organization will compete head to head (exception, trivia) with other organization to collect points.  A win is worth five (5) points, a tie is worth two-point-five (2.5) points, and a loss is worth zero (0) points.  The maximum score an organization can achieve during the tournament is twenty-five (25) and the best sportsmanship rating is five (5).  Before the tournament begins all organizations will be randomly placed into the schedule.  Each team will play all other organizations at least once, but the events and match-ups will be randomly selected.
 
Overall Championship Tiebreaker
If at the end of the tournament, two or more teams are tied in event points the following guidelines will be used as a tiebreaker to determine an overall champion.

  1. Overall sportsmanship (All games combined and averaged)
  2. Points differential (Combined tournament games)

Tournament Cost
Registration: $75 per team
Forfeit Fee: $50 per forfeit

Winners - The fraternity and sorority that wins the overall championship will receive the Greek Intramural Sports Cup Championship shirt.  All members who participated in games will be given a shirt.  The fraternity and sorority who wins will also be awarded a trophy that will have its name and year won engraved on it.  The winners of the sportsmanship awards will also receive a trophy.  

Registration Timeline & Schedules

  • September 28th - Team Captain Meeting
  • September 30th - Registration opens
  • October 15th - Registration closes & rosters finalized
  • October 21st - Tournament day (11:00am-6:00pm)
