Why Choose the UVM Yoga Teacher Training?

A Day In the Life...

The UVM Campus Recreation On-Campus Yoga Teacher Training offers the following advantages:

  • Intensive, weekend, and Sunday morning training sessions over the whole academic year
  • Open to students and non-students
  • Ability to receive certification while pursuing an academic degree
  • Extensive teaching opportunities, including teaching an 6-week series to students and UVM community on the UVM campus or in your community
  • Creating a deeper connection to the university community and more fulfilling higher education experience
  • Program can be paid through student loans or grants with VSAC

Academic Credit: We offer registered UVM students who are also in the YTT the opportunity to get a 1-credit PEAC credit per semester for satisfactorily completing the YTT.  This credit is included at no additional cost for full-time UVM students.  Non-matriculating students wanting academic credit have to register through CDE and pay an additional fee to receive the credit.

The program will help you create a deeper connection and understanding of yourself, expand your knowledge of yoga, make friendships with other training students, and transform your yoga practice. The training will give you extensive practice, confidence, and knowledge to step into the role of the teacher and share the wonderful art, science, and philosophy that is yoga. You’ll learn to cultivate your inner teacher and realize your true greatness. Successful completion of the course meets the necessary requirements by Yoga Alliance to become a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
